Introducing Ollie the Otter!

01_Flyer_29_Aug_2015ed_editedD finalAll book lovers are welcomed to Books & Treats!

The designs for Books & Treats were created and hand drawn by my very talented friend, Kenneth Tay! (Check out his crazy product design work at http://kennethtay.com/) A HUGE thanks to him for creating something that resonates so well with Books & Treats!

So why an otter? Interestingly enough, I actually did write a simple story about an otter named Oliver (or Ollie). Ollie felt like he wasn’t brave or strong enough until he was asked to collect sticks to help build his family’s new den. Ollie discovers that no matter how he felt about himself, he would always make his parents proud.

When Kenneth sent over initial drafts, he chose an otter too without knowing about the story and immediately, I knew this was it! Talk about being in the flow :) Also, otters are known to be playful, excitable and absolutely curious! So in a gist, Books & Treats is meant to encourage not just reading per se, but to always stay curious and deciding that learning is a lifelong thing!

Head over our Books and Treats page on Facebook to keep updated on what’s happening and what you can do to take part in it!

  1. Otters are social animals too. They have great fun doing things together. They armlocked each other while sleeping in the night also that none will get drifted away by the river current. Isn’t that something?
Besides the magnificent cat, the otter is indisputably my second favourite animal.
