Tokyo, Japan (2023)
My first time in Tokyo and I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially since I’d come to love Korea so much after having visited a few times. I thought, how different could Japan be?
We stayed at Ryogoku, next to the Sumida River, which was slightly away from Tokyo Station. Instantly it was quaint and quiet and that made quite the difference for me.
I’m glad we visited on the cusp of spring—where the trees were still bare, the air was still visibly cold, and cherry blossoms peeked out of a few of trees along the pavement or at the side of buildings. It was beautiful because it was uncommon.
My friends told me, ‘You’d love Kyoto. It’s your kinda vibe’. For that, I’ll be back to visit again and then spend more time in Meguro City.
