Books & Treats

Books & Treats is a local traveling book swap event with art & crafts in Singapore aimed at children aged 4 to 12 years old.

We’re a joyful mother-daughter team (created by Yvonne Grace & Sarah Zoe) to inspire children to fall in love with reading!

This idea was born from our simple love and enjoyment of reading and buying (too many) books.

In the digital age, we believe that physical books remain an enduring medium and offer numerous benefits to your children:

  • Distraction-free and immersive experience
  • Joy of turning (and even smelling) the pages of a book
  • Great bonding activity between parent and child
  • Develop strong language skills
  • Increase concentration and improve focus
  • Ignite imagination and foster a deeper emotional connection with the book material

Together, we can influence young children to discover that books are a gateway to a lifetime of fun, adventure, and personal growth.

Join us on this exciting journey!

1. Physical swap of children’s books

We have a tidy treasure trove of pre-loved fiction and non-fiction books tailor-made for little bookworms aged 4 to 11.

From classic tales of bravery and friendship to enchanting fantasies, our Books & Treats book collection has something for every budding book lover.

Bring as many pre-loved fiction and non-fiction books and swap them at our event.

2. Fun-filled art & craft activities

At our creative corners, we have everything your children need to create their own mini art and crafts. From bookmark making to bear-dressing fun, it’s hands-on joy for all ages! It’s fun and easy!

Remember, the art and craft activities might be different each time, so your children will always have something new to create.

3. Spreading smiles and stories with love

We are a team of happy helpers who want you to feel the joy of reading and have a blast making crafts. We believe in the power of imagination and we are on a mission to inspire every child to dream and create.

What motivates us

Our greatest wish is to bring this initiative beyond the shores of sunny Singapore to Southeast Asia where children and families may struggle to afford books on their own.

By putting books into the hands of young children, we are giving them an opportunity to learn and grow and hopefully inspire them to see that they can dream big. We believe that this will eventually empower them to rise above and overcome the challenges they face in their daily lives.
