Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan
South Korea (2018)

I never really took to Korea because I felt my lackluster ability to pick up new languages would hinder me from really appreciating a new country and culture.

But my first experience in Seoul, Jeju, and Busan with some good friends changed it all. In part, I had exceptional traveling companions – and then it was the chill air in Busan, whizzing through Myeongdong and settling at sleepy Jeju with its amazing food in zero degrees winter, and finally meandering through the very quaint Hongik district. I still think about the music and the art design craft stores along those streets.

Later I returned to Seoul and Jeju for work and Korea has grown so much on me. The food, its history, and its people fascinate me. Can’t wait to go back again.
