a moment in film

BE RIGHT BACK

film is not dead

I got my first film camera in 2009 in film school. Our first project was to shoot a roll of film and present it for class. It was everything I loved. Trying to perfect and frame a shot while figuring out for the first time how to work the aperture and shutter speed. I remember waiting in anticipation to collect my developed film and hoped I got the camera settings right. I left that class so inspired by the pictures my classmates produced and was ready to shoot again–and again.

Sharing my photos have always been a personal affair. Yet through the years, I have discovered what honestly thrills me is telling stories and capturing the moments in them. And in film, when you only get one shot, it has constantly pushed me to wait, anticipate and experiment. Then daringly capture the moment, while letting go of the final outcome.

So here are my stories – told as moments in film.
